Cruzeiro are the new Copa Libertadores Femenina champions. In the final played on Saturday (31) in Quito, Ecuador, the Minas Gerais team fought back from 3-0 down against Corinthians, drew 4-4 and won 5-4 on penalties, according to Folha.

Corinthians, who were going for a fourth straight title and the seventh in their history, opened the scoring with two goals from Vic Albuquerque and two from Gabi Zanotti. Cruzeiro's comeback came with goals from Vitória Calhau, Byanca Brasil, Ketlin and Letícia Ferreira, the last one in stoppage time.

In the shootout, goalkeeper Camila saved Gi Fernandes's attempt and sealed the title. Cruzeiro join the list of Brazilian clubs that have won the competition, alongside Corinthians, São José, Ferroviária, Santos and Palmeiras.

With two teams from the country in the final, Brazil extended its dominance of the competition, which has 15 Brazilian titles in 18 editions. Corinthians are the biggest winners, with trophies in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Conmebol kept the 2025 prize amounts: US$ 2 million (about R$ 10 million) for the champion and US$ 600,000 for the runner-up. Colombia's Santa Fe finished third, beating Olimpia 4-3, and took home US$ 250,000.
