A pothole on the BR-324 highway, in Simões Filho, in the Salvador metropolitan area, caused a truck queue that reached 30 km on Tuesday (3), g1 reported. The problem was recorded at km 603, in the Feira de Santana–Salvador direction.

The partial closure began on Monday (2), due to heavy rains. The site is near another crater that opened in July.

Dnit (the federal transport infrastructure department) said work to rebuild the embankment and repair the roadway began on Tuesday, aiming to restore safety and normalize traffic. One lane was opened only to light vehicles; the other remains closed. Trucks and other heavy vehicles were diverted to the side road, the old Derba highway. According to g1, light-vehicle traffic flows only partially in the open lane.

The stretch is part of the route between Feira de Santana and Salvador, the direction in which the backup formed, and the congestion reached 30 km during the day.
