At least seven flights and a cruise ship in Europe received bomb threats on Tuesday (3), causing disruptions at several airports, but no explosive device was found, according to CNN en Español, which reproduces Reuters material.

Two flights bound for Warsaw, two for Sofia, two for Rome and one for Murcia airport, in Spain, were threatened. Another flight to Sofia had received an alert a day earlier.

A Warsaw airport was closed for a short time, and the Italian Air Force escorted one of the planes headed to Rome. In Greece, a cruise ship heading to Israel was inspected over the possibility of bombs on board.

In Murcia, parts of the airport were cordoned off because of a Ryanair flight from Manchester, but operations resumed after inspections detected no explosives. Two other Ryanair flights, from Lisbon and from Dublin, were inspected at Fiumicino, in Rome, and the alert was dismissed.

On the Greek island of Syros, a sniffer dog and a diver inspected the Panamanian-flagged cruise ship Crown Iris after an unidentified person said there was a device on the hull. Initial examinations found nothing, and Coast Guard specialists were to carry out further checks before the ship continued its voyage.

A day earlier, a Wizz Air flight from London to Sofia was diverted to Budapest after a similar threat, Hungary's defense minister said.

No one has claimed responsibility for the threats, and authorities have not named suspects. According to Reuters, the affected airlines did not respond to requests for comment.
