Videos obtained by g1 show the hang glider accident that killed an instructor and an Argentine tourist at São Conrado Beach, in Rio's South Zone, on the morning of Monday (2). The footage, from a security camera on the ground and two others attached to the wing, was handed to police.

The victims are instructor Luiz Eduardo Rodrigues dos Santos, 45, and passenger Adrian Guillermo Arismendi, 26. They took off from the Pedra Bonita Ramp. According to witnesses, on the approach to land the pilot made a turn that was out of the standard pattern and at low altitude.

In the images, one wing hits the sand and the other hits the boardwalk wall before pilot and passenger strike a concrete ramp that links the beach to the boardwalk, where the landing strip is.

Firefighters were called after 11:20 a.m. and took both to Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, but both arrived in cardiac arrest and did not survive. The Free Flight Club blamed the accident on a pilot's error of judgment.

The case is being investigated by the 15th Police Precinct, and flights in the area are suspended.
